    A few comments:

    1. You could use the ‘:first-child’ pseudo-class and omit the ‘first’ class.

    2. The ‘active’ pseudo-class shows when the user clicks the link (click and hold to see).

    3. LoVeHAte gives you the right order to set the link pseudo-classes.
